S E Georgian Bay Gala GM was a great success. I wish to thank all who placed a bid on my original art. All proceeds went to the local food bank.

97 % UV glass should be used for conservation framing, production glass for decorative art, museum glass for high end museum pieces and 45% UV glass for standard applications. The wholesale cost between museum and decorative glass is three times. Each serves a different purpose. Consider the value and importance of your art work before you approach your framer.

Ever wonder what they use to fix your artwork to the mat board before they apply the frame? Your painting will maintain its value if it’s hinged with 100% acid free material. Filmoplast or lineco acid-free linen tapes are two of my favourites. These materials are a little pricy but are justified if your framer uses them.

Acid free material is a 100% must when having an original piece of art framed. If you have purchased a piece of original art, chances are you will want it around for years. Over time, if the wrong materials are not used, the pigments in the art work can be attacked by the toxins. The pigments can fade and erode over time.
