Tip for protecting original art. If you value your art work, it’s a good ideal not to place it directly in the suns rays. Although professional artists do use high end quality paints, they still remain subject to sun damage. If you value your art as an asset and wish to pass it on to generations who follow, hang your work in an area safe from the bleaching sun.

Dust paper is used to finish your framing project. Acid paper can attack the artwork discolouring your pigments much like the sun would. An example would be a piece of art I purchase 35 odd years ago. The oil paint pigments are being attacked leaving areas that show the canvas. To protect your investment it might be wise to art ask your framer if he is using museum barrier paper.
