About Us

Frieda’s art is based on a love of the outdoors and the beauty surrounding her rural home.  She is an avid hiker and amateur photographer, and takes hundreds of photographs that provide inspiration for unique artistic compositions.

Frieda is a self-taught artist that has been painting for 7 years.  As a member of the Quest Art School + Gallery in Midland and the Barrie Art Club, Frieda took many art and painting courses from local artists.  Four of her paintings from her “Feral Garden” series were displayed at the McLaren Art Centre last summer.  The paintings “Nature’s Garden” and “Summer Sunset” may be seen this summer reproduced onto bollards and banners in downtown Midland.  28 of her paintings from her series “My Favourite Places in Ontario” are on display at the Barrie Art Club until August 27, 2024.

Frieda’s works feature beautiful, bright colours, and intense contrast between areas of light and dark.  It is Frieda’s goal to create art that stirs the imagination, preserves fond memories of places and create feelings of well-being and peace.
