Huronia Transition Homes is a non-profit organization working to end all violence against all women. We began this work in 1984, and now operate three primary programs including: La Maison Rosewood Shelter, Athena’s Sexual Assault Counselling & Advocacy Centre and Choices for Children.
We believe that all violence against all women and children must end.
We are community members who are committed to education and advocacy as a means to end violence. We are also committed to providing shelter and support to abused women and their children and to provide counselling to women survivors of sexual assault.
We work within an integrated feminist/anti-racism/anti-oppression/harm reduction philosophy. We make every attempt to understand women’s diverse life experiences and impact of violence on their lives. We work with women to achieve their goals on their time.
It’s through the support of our communities that our work is possible.
Violence against women affects everyone.
Together we can make a difference.
