About Brookside

Brookside Music Association is a registered not-for-profit organization which presents world class music events in the Midland area at exceptionally affordable prices. Performances by The Vienna Boys Choir, Sultans of String, Louise Pitre, Tom Allen, Toronto All Star Big Band and Tafelmusik, to name but a few have been showcased by Brookside. The Brookside summer series, "Festival of the Bay", is a smattering of classical performances scattered throughout the summer giving people even more reason to cherish time spent in the beautiful Georgian Bay region. Performances appeal to audiences of all ages with varying musical tastes and diverse backgrounds in music education or appreciation.

Brookside is committed to outreach and educational programs and events including free admission to most concerts for all students and children under 13 years of age.

Brookside Music Association originated in 2010 when its artistic director, John French, began hosting live music performances for area residents in his home.  In 2011, a number of concerts were hosted in a Midland church to accommodate growing audiences.

After the opening of the Midland Cultural Centre in 2012, the majority of Brookside concerts were moved to the Centre’s air-conditioned Rotary Hall which is equipped with state-of-the art technical supports.

Each year the organization seeks to find sponsors to help supplement the escalating costs of providing stellar presentations to area residents at prices that everyone can afford. If you or someone you know can afford to help make music possible please consider becoming a sponsor.

Music is for sharing.
